I’m writing from Australia. I read in the team section of this website that Polly would not jump on a science fiction manuscript. Would Polly delete a submission that is science fiction for a young adult audience? Or would the submission be considered despite the genre? If Polly wold not be interested in such a submission at all, would it be possible to send my submission to Sarah instead when she reopens for submissions? I read on her manuscript wish list that she has a passion for science in fiction and thought that my manuscript might be a good fit. I am in Australia but thought it was worth asking as I would be very excited to have my work considered by the Greenhouse. Thank you for taking the time to read my question. Kind Regards, Megan

Thank you for taking the time to write. In the first instance, please send your query to me. I read everything sent to me (as long as it follows our submission guidelines, which are on our website). If it’s not for me but I think that it might work for Sarah, I will forward it to her. Sarah and I work closely together, and often share manuscripts, so please don’t worry that, because I am not a huge fan of sci-fi, your work won’t be given serious consideration.
