Question & AnswersCategory: Writingrevisiting-an-old-book
Paul asked 6 years ago

Iv’e previously self published a short novel (50,000 words) a few years ago. Nothing realy happened with it, the book simply vanished amongst the thousands of others just like it. I’m now considering rewriting and extending it into a full size novel, with the aim of getting published traditionally onto the book shelf. Would potential agents/publishers have a problem with this as they sometimes have with previously self published work, or could I count it as a separate and new novel?

Hello Paul
Sorry: I typed a response to your question the day we received it, but have only just realised that it wasn’t published.
I think that as long as you are open about the history of your novel, most agents will be happy to consider it.
Good luck!
