Michelle Lam creates dynamic, kid-friendly graphic novels that promote self-love, diversity, and female empowerment.
MICHELLE LAM is a Chinese-American artist and storyboard artist based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from New York, she moved to California in 2014 to attend CalArts’s Character Animation Program and graduated in 2018 with a BFA in Character Animation. She is currently an assistant director at Tonko House in the animation industry, and has done work for Glen Keane Productions and Netflix Animation. Her middle grade graphic novel series, Meesh the Bad Demon, will be published by Knopf/Penguin Random House. She self-published her first series of autobiographical comics, Succubishez, from her Instagram, promoting self-love and female empowerment through her life experiences. On Instagram and YouTube, Michelle shares her personal art and comics as well as advice for those who wish to pursue art as a career.
